It's been a busy 3 months in the Schrunk household... We bought a new house & ended up leasing out our old one.
We lived in our last house for seven years. It was love at first sight, we knew it was the one for us. As time went by, our family slowly outgrew it. The office was in the garage, the kids were constantly rearranged when we had overnight visitors and the kitchen was just not big enough for entertaining. We love the neighborhood and our neighbors, the schools are great, we are involved in the community & Nick works a mile from work - so moving out of the area was not an option.
We didn't officially set out to find a new house, but we decided to keep our eyes open. We had a few requirements, and most of them we weren't willing to settle on. We obviously wanted a larger house, in the same neighborhood, pool, larger lot, cul-de-sac, indoor laundry & 3 car garage. Well, this March, we stumbled across a diamond in the rough with a huge lot and a pool. The house was in complete disarray, inside & out. It was a disaster of neglect, but it had everything we wanted, except for the 3 car garage. We saw beyond the ick & I really don't know how we did it. Friends & family were disgusted & thought we were nuts. There were times we thought WE were nuts! I had several mental breakdowns & I hated this house with all my might, but now that we are done & moved in, WE LOVE this house!!!!
I'm posting some before and afters, mind you, we are far from done, but the rest will happen in the months to come...

The boys & Tball
Tyler & Conner at their first Tball game of the season. We won the game (in Tball there is no score keeping, but we did anyway!) and the boys were fantastic!
Pitstop in N. Tahoe
While visiting my parents we made our way up to North Lake Tahoe for a few days. With all the heavy rain, we were really nervous that there wouldn't be enough snow... Ha! Yeah, right!
Back to Placerville
Went back up to Placerville to visit my parents. Although I am thrilled they are wanting to be closer to us, I am sad that I will lose my connection to this beautiful place.

Back to El Mirage
What a great day! The sun was out, the temp was mild and the kids rode like pros. I'm not sure how many more of these we will have considering our weekend schedule is getting pretty full... I guess I'll post some pictures so we can remember the experiences we need to make time for, no matter how busy we think we are!

Homecoming
After an absence of 3 plus years, the kids & I finally made it up to see my parents. They live in Placerville, Ca, which is just outside of Tahoe. Nick had to work a bit near East Bay & met us at my parents house the day before New Years Eve. We had the best time. Living in Southern California for all these years, I forgot how beautiful NorCal is. It's green, there are lots of trees & it is NOT a concrete jungle. I miss that. We are home again, which I missed as well and here are some pictures to document our picturesque trip.
